Back to school!

March 2025

Help to grow.

RBP Managing Director Nina Shipley kicked 2025 off with a brand new challenge, as she headed back to university.

Despite an already hectic life balancing a full-time job with her equally important role of after-school football mum, Nina decided to embark on an intensive management course at the University of Lincoln.

Joining other regional small-medium business owners, Nina began the 12-week course in January.

The curriculum covered 50 hours of leadership training and examined key topics such as strategy and innovation, digital transformation and effective operations.

“If I’m completely honest, I wasn’t sure if I would have the time or the capacity to undertake an intensive management course alongside my other commitments,” she explained.

“However, it was something I really wanted to do and I’m very pleased I did it. I learnt a lot over the 12 weeks but also, it was a fantastic opportunity to meet and connect with so many other business owners and MDs like myself.

“The course was great and the lecturers and facilitators at the University of Lincoln were second to none. I loved it.”

Nina’s completion of the course comes several months since she took the helm at RBP after more than 20 years working for the company.

Under her leadership, RBP is thriving and the future looks bright. “Since I became Managing Director, I’ve been determined to push the company to new levels and that includes pushing myself,” she added.

“I am now excited to put everything learnt into practice – it’s time to put the Growth Action Plan into motion!”
